Listn DJ Pro Overview
Four decks
Two decks when you want them. Four when you need them.
One switch in the top bar adds decks C and D and turns the mixer into four channels. The waveforms sit two to a side, so your library keeps its room. Switch back and the app looks exactly as it did.
- Four-channel mixer: gain, three-band EQ, filter, fader and headphone cue on every channel
- Crossfader sides: put any deck on the left, the right, or straight through
- Key Lock: change the tempo without changing the key
- Key shift: move a track up or down a semitone at a time, and the harmonic matches follow
- Controllers: the deck 3 and 4 layers on the DDJ-FLX10, DDJ-REV5, DDJ-GRV6, Rane FOUR, DJ-202 and XDJ-XZ play decks C and D
Listn Cloud
Your Listn Cloud library, right on the decks
Sign in and your Listn Cloud tracks and playlists appear above your music folders, with the BPM, key and artwork Listn Cloud already has. Load one on a deck and it downloads on the spot, then it is analyzed and remembered like any other track.
- Ready for the gig: download a whole playlist to your laptop before you leave
- Offline: Listn DJ Pro keeps working for 30 days between check-ins
- Upload: right-click a track or a folder to send it to Listn Cloud with its BPM, key and waveform. The file stays where it is
- Edit track info: fix a title, artist, BPM or key, and on a cloud track the change reaches Listn Cloud too
- Never mid-set: if your plan ends while you play, Listn DJ Pro carries on until you close it
Automix
Let the app mix while you take a break.
Pick a crate, a playlist or a search, choose where to start and press Automix. Listn DJ Pro mixes each track into the next on decks A and B, on the beat.
- Beat-matched mixes: tracks close in tempo are synced, the crossfader moves across and the bass swaps halfway
- No dead air: silent intros and tails are skipped, so every mix lands on sound
- You pick the length: 8, 16 or 32 beats, and Skip mixes into the next track right away
- Take over any time: press Stop and the track playing carries on, and the decks are yours again
Sandbox
Rehearse the next mix while the room keeps dancing.
Flip the Sandbox switch and the room keeps hearing the mix that is on. Everything you do after that happens in your headphones only: load a track, jump around, loop, move the EQ, try the blend.
- The room is safe: stop a deck, drop a loop or move a fader, and nobody on the floor hears it
- Watch the clock: an amber marker shows where the room has got to, so you know how long you have
- Back in one move: switch it off and the decks go back to where the room is, with your next track parked at its cue
- Never on the record: recordings and broadcasts always carry the room, never the rehearsal
Stems
Every stem at its own level, and vocals from one track over another.
Vocals, melody, bass and drums each have a level now, not just on and off. Scroll a stem pad to set it, or put it on a knob of your controller.
- Stem levels: take the drums down to 30% for a breakdown, or bring the melody in a little at a time
- StemSwap: put this deck's vocal over the other deck's track, in sync, and put both back with one press
- Get ahead: prepare stems for your whole sidelist before the gig, one track at a time in the background
Cues and Track Cleaner
Mark up a track once. Clean it once. It stays that way.
The cue editor holds everything marked on a track in one window: the cue point, eight named hot cues and eight saved loops, over the waveform and its beat grid. Drag a marker to move it, and hear every change on the deck as you make it.
- Named cues: Intro, Drop, Break, Outro, shown beside each marker on the waveform
- Fix the grid: Beat 1 is here slides the grid onto the playhead, and ½ or 2× fixes the BPM
- Track Cleaner: make a clean version without touching the file: mute a word, take the vocal out of a line, or skip a stretch
- Every time it loads: the cuts play on any deck, in Automix and in Sandbox, and show on the waveform
Sampler
Four banks of eight pads, right on the beat.
The Sampler is a pad page of its own. Bank A comes loaded with an air horn, siren, laser, riser, impact, clap, kick and rewind, and any pad can take your own sound.
- Your own samples: drag a track or any audio file onto a pad, and the app keeps its own copy
- Once, hold or loop: right-click a pad to choose how it plays
- Quantize: a sample starts on the next beat of the deck you are playing
- On your controller: the SAMPLER button opens it on the DDJ-FLX4, DDJ-FLX10, DDJ-REV5, DDJ-REV7, Inpulse 500, DJ-202 and Party Mix II
Karaoke
Instant karaoke from any track.
One press takes the vocal out and puts the lyrics up in a window of their own. Drag it to a second screen or a projector and double-click for full screen.
- Lyrics that follow along: the line being sung fills in as it is sung, with a count-in before the first line
- Keeps up with you: seek, loop or load another track and the screen follows
- Your lyrics: from an .lrc file beside the track, the lyrics saved in the file, or a file you load by hand
- One press back: press Karaoke again and the vocal comes back
Ask the DJ
Song requests straight from the crowd's phones.
Open requests and Listn DJ Pro shows a code and a QR code to put up or read out. People scan it, type a song, and it lands in the app. There is no app for them to install and no account to make.
- Find it fast: one click looks the request up in your library
- Let them know: mark a request Coming up or Played, and the person who asked sees it on their phone
- Made for a real night: the same code every time, closed by itself after 12 hours, with limits that keep spam out
Record and broadcast
Go live, and keep an MP3 of the whole night.
Stream your mix live to an Icecast or Shoutcast server, your own or a station's, and record it at the same time. Listeners hear exactly what the room hears.
- Live broadcast: MP3 at 128 to 320 kbps, with a Live button and an on-air timer on the top bar
- Track titles: your listeners' players show what is playing as each track goes out
- MP3 recording: 320 or 192 kbps as well as WAV, about a quarter of the size
- Stays on air: if the connection drops it reconnects by itself, and your stream password is kept in your computer's own key store
Event Scheduler
Set up the night before you arrive.
Tell Listn DJ Pro what to do and when, once or every day. Start Automix on a crate for the warm-up, start the recording, play a jingle, and fade out and stop at closing time.

Sound packs
Loops and one shots, one click from your pads.
The Sounds tab in Listnbox brings its sound packs into the app: loops, one shots and effects from the labels and producers on Listnbox. Hear any sound in your headphones, get one sound or the whole pack with your sound credits, and it lands in your library, a folder per pack.
- Find the right one: search by name, BPM or key, like kick, 128 or 8A, and pick loops, one shots or effects
- Straight onto a pad: Pad puts a sound on a free sampler pad, and a loop goes on as a loop

Cues and beat counter
Know exactly when the drop lands.
Mark the intro, the break and the drop as memory cues without using up a pad, and every deck counts the bars down to the next one, right on its waveform. New tracks come in with a cue on the first beat, ready to go.
- Memory cues: markers on the track that don't take a pad, with names, and one press to jump back or on
- A beat counter: bars and beats to the next cue, red for the last two bars, so every mix starts on time

Which Mac do I have?
Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it says Chip: Apple M1 (or M2, M3, M4…), take Apple silicon. If it says Processor: Intel, take Intel. Stems need Apple silicon; everything else works on both.
The Mac won't open it the first time
Drag Listn DJ Pro into Applications and open it. When macOS says it could not verify the app, click Done, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway. You only do this once.
Installs beside the free Listn DJ. The first time it opens, it brings your library, cue points and settings across.

Questions about Pro
Do I need the DJ plan?
Yes. Listn DJ Pro checks your Listn Cloud plan when you sign in, and again at least once every 30 days. Without the plan it opens to a card that takes you to it.
Can I keep the free Listn DJ?
Yes. Listn DJ Pro installs as its own app beside it. The first time it opens it brings your library and settings across, and the free app stays as it is.
Does it need the internet during a set?
No. Tracks you have downloaded play offline, and Listn DJ Pro keeps working for 30 days between check-ins.
What happens if my plan ends in the middle of a set?
Nothing, right then. Listn DJ Pro tells you and carries on until you close it.
Does editing track info change my music files?
No. Your changes are saved in Listn DJ Pro's library and, for cloud tracks, in Listn Cloud. The audio file itself is never rewritten.
Is my password stored in the app?
No. You sign in on Listn Cloud's own page in your browser. The app gets its own key, kept encrypted on your computer.
How do I sign a computer out?
In Listn Cloud, open Settings → Account → Listn DJ Pro and click Sign out next to it. Changing your Listn Cloud password signs every computer out.
Which Mac do I need?
macOS 13 or newer, on Apple silicon or Intel. Stems need Apple silicon.
Does the crowd need an app for Ask the DJ?
No. They scan the QR code or type the link, and send a song from the web page. No app and no account.
Do I need my own server to broadcast?
You need an Icecast or Shoutcast server to send to: your own, one you rent, or a station's. Listn DJ Pro asks for its address, port and password.
Does Track Cleaner change my music files?
No. The cuts are kept in Listn DJ Pro's library and play every time the track loads. The file itself is never touched.
Where do the karaoke lyrics come from?
From an .lrc file with the same name beside the track, the lyrics saved in the file itself, or a lyrics file you load by hand. The vocal comes out through stems.
Does the Event Scheduler work with the app closed?
No. Listn DJ Pro has to be open. While an event is coming up it keeps the computer from going to sleep, and an event it missed is marked missed rather than run late.
Do I still need my record pool accounts?
Yes. Get music opens the pools' and stores' own sites, so you sign in and subscribe with them as you do now. What you download there joins your library by itself.
Where do my Get music downloads go?
Into one folder, Listn DJ Pro Downloads in your Music folder unless you pick another. It becomes one of your music folders, so everything in it is analyzed and ready to play.
What is a memory cue?
A marker on the track that doesn't use one of your eight hot cue pads. Put them on the intro, the break and the drop, and the beat counter on each deck counts down to the next one.
Will Listn DJ Pro change the cues I set myself?
No. A cue on the first beat only goes on tracks that have no cues yet, and one you take away never comes back by itself.
